For details and pointers see: http://www.ohiobirds.org/records/documentation.php MISSISSIPPI KITE: Gabe Leidy saw an adult kite at the Brass Ring Gold Course, Logan, on the 4th. BLACK-NECKED STILT: Presumably two pair remain near Bellevue in the pond along the east side of TR 80 in Seneca County, just south of Seneca County Line Road (CR 113). The last definite report was of one pair on the 10th. Nesting is underway. American Avocet: The previously reported bird from the impoundment near the pumphouse at Pickerel Creek Wildlife Area was seen on the 8th but missed on the 10th. Bob Krajeski found one at Conneaut on the 9th. Willet: Ray Hannikman spotted one on the beach at Headlands Beach State Park on the 5th. On the 9th Bob Krajeski found one at Conneaut. Upland Sandpiper: Eight were reported from Mansfield Municipal Airport (Richland County) on the 4th. Whimbrel: Greg Links saw one fly over Maumee Bay State Park and apparently land at Mallard Club Marsh Wildlife Area on the 4th. LEAST TERN: Kevin Kline, while birding by bicycle on the 4th, found one on the north side of Wilderness Road at Funk Bottoms Wildlife Area. Although others saw it later in the day, the bird has not been seen subsequently. Clay-colored Sparrow: A pair was reported on the 6th from Oak Openings Metropark (Lucas County) from the sand barrens along the east side of Girdham Road south of Monclova Road. Another pair was at Charlemont Reservation (Lorain Co.) along Quarry Road on the 8th. Other individuals are in the Walnut Creek (Holmes County) area.
