My wife and I took a walk on the boardwalk Saturday at Area M to view the mudflats. I took the following picture with my 400 mm lens from the end of the boardwalk - a long shot for an effective 600 mm focal length but oh well. http://www.ohiobirds.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=867 I'm not good with ID'ing shorebirds but looking at Sibley's I'm thinking could this have been an adult nonbreeding Bonaparte's Gull? It was significantly smaller than the Ring-billed Gulls in the area. thanks ================================== PERSEVERANCE "In the confrontation between the stream and the rock, the stream always wins..... not through strength, but through persistence" _________________________________________________________________ Be the filmmaker you always wanted to be—learn how to burn a DVD with Windows®. http://clk.atdmt.com/MRT/go/108588797/direct/01/ ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
