Denise and I were at the Coshocton County Stork site from 2:45 to 5:15 PM today. There was a constant rain! The birds were present in the V Pond all the time we were there. As someone previously noted there is very little traffic on Township Road 145.
In 2.5 hours we saw 4 vehicles. Around 4PM one of the vehicles became the only other birders encountered; 8+ Amish birders led by Adam Yoder; this being his second time here today. the first on bicycle noted previously by Bruce Glick. During our visit we were
able to get some great photos of the two birds feeding together.
A suggested scenic drive is west past the V Pond on TR145 2.7 miles to a nice patch of flowering Swamp Globe Mallow and continue 0.8 mile more to a bluff with a wonderful view of Will's Creek Lake and some good shorebird habitat.
Wood Storks in Ohio!!!!! What's next?
