This afternoon at 4 PM, I counted 35 large waterbirds that my books says are
Double-crested Cormorants sitting on the barrels floating just upstream of O'Shaughnessy
dam next to the Columbus Zoo. Another would fly in from the North and land on the water
every 3-5 minutes, joining the 3-5 birds sitting on each floating barrel. I saw just one
diving during my time watching.

Can someone confirm my amateur identification? I have a few photos at:
http://www.k8nd.com/Local_Critters/Photos_DCCormorant/index.htm.

I'll process some more later, and maybe go back with a bit more lens.

(BTW, the Marbled Godwit is still limping around the Twin Lakes mudflats: I saw it
yesterday and today.)
