Yet another NELSON'S SHARP-TAILED SPARROW to report, this bird at Richfield Coliseum site, CVNP (Summit Co). It was around the wet area in the middle of the meadow, this afternoon.

Those of you looking for sharp-taileds and the rarer Leconte's - get out now! Sharp-tailed migration is at its peak in our area right now, and LeConte's will be in the next week or two. Wet meadows with just a bit of standing water are ideal, but dry fields should definitely not be ignored. In my experience, LeConte's are the likelier of the pair to show up more arid fields, but both are known to do so.

Other birds at Richfield: Common Snipe, Marsh Wren (2), and Vesper Sparrow. The former Coliseum site is on Rt.303 in Richfield, just west of the I-271 overpass.

Good birding -
