Regina, You might want to look at fall Palm Warbler. The description sounds good especially with the tail movement. They use scrubby fields a lot during migration and on their wintering grounds. -- Cheers, Bill Hull Cincinnati, OH, USA http://www.mangoverde.com/ On Mon, Oct 13, 2008 at 7:04 PM, Regina Schieltz <[log in to unmask]> wrote: > Walking this pm at my parents farm, I saw a bird that had a definite white eyebrow, short straight beak, some streaking on sides and breasts with some tannish brown wash on the sides. It was feeding in short trees in a brushy area in a field that has been allowed to just go back to nature with a lot of golden rood, etc. I didn't think the streaking on my bird was as defined as the streaking on either waterthrush should be. THe only yellow I could find was maybe a little wash under the tail/rear area. Are waterthrushes coming south now?
