Here in Avon Lake, just as everywhere else, both species of KINGLETS have been a constant for the last 10 days or so. My Pin Oaks, Bur Oaks, Red Buds and Sassafras trees seem to be alive with them! I make the BSHHHT sound and they really come into close range. Very neat. There has also been a mystery warbler (not a yellow rumped) amongst the Kinglets that I've been really struggling to identify. He's been there the last 3 or 4 days. He also comes in close, but he's a bit more passive than his fellow Kinglets. From my views and my field guide, he looks like the fall colors of the Blackburnian with fainted streaks on the outer breast, but there have been no posts on the listserv of any Blackburnians around. I'm going to borrow a more powerful camera this weekend and try to snap some photos to post. Is there a warbler suspect more likely than the others that might be co-mingling with these Kinglets on a constant basis? One that perhaps is similar to the fall Blackburnian? Thanks in advance.
