This morning, on my way to a construction project at the historic Ashtabula Harbor Lift Bridge, I made time to go by the Conneaut sandspit and lagoon area. I recorded 28 species from 7:45 to 8:30 AM. The soft sand on the way in and out is still a real danger for getting stuck! I suggest you follow the water's edge. Here were the highlights: Pied-billed Grebe 1 Black-crowned Night-Heron 1 (juvenile) Green Heron 1 (juvenile) Great Egret 1 Green-winged Teal 7 Northern Shoveler 1 (fall male) American Coot 2 Semipalmated Plover 2 Killdeer 3 Black-bellied Plover 4 Lesser Yellowlegs 1 Ruddy Turnstone 1 Dunlin 1 Little Gull 1 ( Note: no Bonaparte's Gulls) Bob Lane _________________________________________________________________ Want to do more with Windows Live?
