I got over to Berlin Res. today. The mudflats are enormous, but birds were rather scarce. I found 3 green-winged teal, 2 great egrets, 42 killdeer, 2 lesser yellowlegs, 4 least sandpipers, and 8 pectoral sandpipers. I stopped at Pine L. in Mahoning Co. on the way home; it held wood ducks, pied-billed grebe, 8 great egrets, and several swamp sparrows. I stumbled upon a couple flocks of chimney swifts in eastern Mahoning Co., they totaled 140+ birds. A red-breasted nuthatch was around my yard this morning.
