Four of us were birding at Buck Creek State Park in Clark County this morning. From the overlook on the west side of the lake we counted 10 Franklin's Gulls sitting on the water. A few minutes later we saw a flock of about 80 Franklin's Gulls flying to the north of us. Our estimate was that there were at least 90 Franklin's Gulls present. Later we were at the north end of the lake off Grant Road. Along the gravel drive that goes down to the lake we saw at least one Purple Finch and several Pine Siskins with a flock of goldfinches. The combined flock was at least 40 birds but I don't know how many were siskins. Most did seem to be goldfinches.
