To add to the crane sightings: This morning, 11-18-08 I saw a flock of 20 Sandhill Cranes at C.J. Brown Reservoir near Springfield. They were flying just barely higher than the dam (<100 feet). They were slowly circling to gain altitude, and bugling toward the southwest. Usually when I see them over the lake this time of year, they are up high and flying fast.
