Hey all - Larry Richardson and I observed an adult (probably male) SNOWY OWL at Burke Lakefront Airport, this morning. The bird could be seen from the unlocked parking lot near Aviation High School, and from Gate 12 (looking east). Later in the morning, Emil Bacik reportedly found a second, and younger, bird. We, from there, headed to Headlands Beach SP. Thanks to tips from Emil and Jim McCarty we found a single PURPLE SANDPIPER feeding on the beach, west of the nature preserve/dunes. This bird was feeding among the mussel shells on the beach. Other HBSP species included Surf Scoter and Eastern Towhee. Multiple Purples were reported from the beach earlier in the morning. Good birding - Gabe Leidy Cleveland ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
