Hello Ohio Birders, Three Sandhill Cranes showed up at 5 pm today at the traditional spot near the upper end of Deer Creek Reservoir, Fayette & Pickaway Counties. (Other than that there was not much of note beyond an impressive number of Killdeer - 50 or more.) Happy birding, Dave Horn Columbus (To access the "traditional spot," from S.R. 207 south of Pancoastburg, turn toward the reservoir at the Fayette-Pickaway county line sign (a continuation of Miller Rd. which is marked westbound but not eastbound). Proceed to the shore where there is parking and a picnic area. The cranes usually approach from upstream and glide in a majestic u-turn onto the mudflats. Today there were several Great Blue Herons strategically situated for comparison.) ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
