Walked my German Shepard yesterday (Wed.) along breakwall of Sandusky River. Saw a solitary Belted Kingfisher flying its breaking, disjointed flight about a foot above the river. On my Blog "Wildlife-friendly Yards" there's some new articles this week under the theme: "WINTER BIRDS IN OHIO." Interesting, but when I read on this Listserv about birds appearing in Ohio, like today's Purple Finch, I usually see the birds a day before or a day after. I'll be looking for them at my backyard feeder. I still see a Robin at my feeders, but plenty of berries and fruits are available in my yard: Crabapple, Holly, Poke Berry, Dogwood, etc. http://wildlifefriendlylawn.blogspot.com/ Robert ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
