Hi all, I just received a report from Judy Holbrook, who reports a Snowy Owl along U.S. Rte 35 about 18 miles west of Xenia last Saturday. It was along the section of road between Jamestown and Jeffersonville, and they saw it land in the median strip between the east and westbound lanes. It may still be in the area. This is not too far from Wilmington, where a snowy spent much of the winter of 2001 and became a major celebrity attended to by numerous paparazzi. It's good to see some of these humongous Arctic owls appearing down here, and I suspect that we'll be seeing more of them this winter.
