Thanks to a nice guy I passed while ‘cruising’ North Marginal Road with my emergency flashers going, I was able to spot the immature Snowy Owl. It was not easy since more than ½ of it was below the runway – the farthest from the road! The pictures are not great but keep in mind it was very windy, I was shooting through the fence and I had to add magnification to the spotting scope and the camera (I hate excuses – don’t you?). Oh, and the lighting was lousy! I was parked on that horseshoe curve where the freeway exits to S. Marginal Road, not far from Gate 9 where it was seen once before. http://picasaweb.google.com/mvalencic/SnowyOwlAtBurkeAirport112608# <http://picasaweb.google.com/mvalencic/SnowyOwlAtBurkeAirport112608> Happy Thanksgiving!
