While walking down the J-walk today at Ohio Wesleyan I heard a soft,
but rapid "tidik tidik." Within the next 20 seconds a beautiful male
WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL flew overheard, in the sunlight, showing his
bright red body and white wingbars. It was only flying treetop level,
so I was graced with a rather spectacular sighting. The bird continued
flying and never landed. While rather pleased with such a lucky
encounter, I am not terribly surprised, as there are multiple pine
stands around campus. They are here!

Good birding,

Sean
