Birders, As I arrived home today, 25 or so WW crossbills were feeding in the cone crop at the very top of a Norway Spruce in my yard, completely ignoring the hemlocks. My house is maybe 2000 yards from the Harriet Keeler woods in Brecksville Reservation. Interestingly, last year or two years ago I found white winged crossbills in the UP, and up there they were singing, which was (obviously) quite different from the call notes I heard in the yard today. best, Bill ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
