David Weaver, Mike & Paul Hershberger, & I saw a flock of 15 ww crossbills at 10:30 AM this morning at the Wooster OARDC. At least 1/2 the flock were males! Entering the park from the south, they were feeding in the tall pine trees right beside the main road on the right, east side close to the 2nd small parking lot on the west side. Maybe 100 Yds. before the main road makes a sharp turn to the left west. We got great looks at them as they fed on large cones at the top of the trees for 15 minutes and then flew . Wow!! Great fun!! David and I were looking for them for 2 hours before we finally saw them! Jim :) ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
