Hey all - Emil Bacik and I spent 2.5 productive hours at E 72nd St, this morning. To say it was cold would be an understatement, but the conditions brought plenty of larids close to shore. Most of these birds were seen at close range, just east of the bridge. There was a large feeding flock just off the tip of the breakwall here: Bonaparte's Gull 2000 resting in the harbor west of the bridge; none different detected THAYER'S GULL 4 three first-cycle birds, all subtly different shades of gray & brown & one second-cycle ICELAND GULL 5 all four age classes represented, including 2 second-cycle birds GLAUCOUS GULL 2 first-cycle, adult birds Three LONG-TAILED DUCKS occupied the marina at Gordon Park, along with a male Northern Pintail. Photos of some of these birds at: http://flickr.com/photos/28939750@N05/ And, as usual, if you see the word 'at' within the url, replace it with the 'at' symbol. -Gabe Leidy Cleveland ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
