Today at 10AM while participating in The Beaver Creek Christmas Bird Count (Northeast Ohio), we had 11 Brant on the Ohio River about two miles downstream from East Liverpool, Columbiana County flying southwest and heading downriver. Of 38 species seen by us in seven hours, other highlights were: a single Double-crested Cormorant, also flying downriver near the same location; and a Northern Shrike on the southeast corner of Black and McCormick Roads near the town of West Point. A preliminary count of 62 species is in, with several lists yet to be submitted. The Beaver Creek Count had 22 participants covering twelve different areas.
