Happy New Years Birders
Our day started off with a pileated woodpecker hammering away right
off the west side of our deck. It was close enough to have delightful
looks. A great way to start off the New Year. In addition, we have a
tremendous amount of blue jays in the yard. I mention this only
because in the past year we've had a noticeable lack of this species
here. Lots of pine siskins meet us each morning waiting to get to the
feeders. They're oblivious to our presence and will virtually start
eating before the feeder is adequately hung. It's been a wonderful
New Year morning.
Happy Birding
