Today (1/26/09) at 1:30 p.m. the flock of White-winged Crossbills in Lakeview Cemetery was easily located (first by song - then by sight) in the assorted conifers just west of the Garfield Monument.  There were at least 12 - probably closer to 20 birds - males & females.  They were flying back and forth between nearby conifers along the Mayfield Rd. Hill boundary wall and the core group of conifers a little west of the Monument.

Since first discovered there by Scott VanValkenburg on the 24th, I've seen them here 3 consecutive days - today was sunny & warm and afforded wonderful views of the birds.
