I got up to the Eastlake Power Plant today.  There is a good-sized section of open water there, surrounded by much ice.  Gulls were present in modest numbers, only 3 species seen.  The waterfowl collection was pretty impressive:  Canada geese, Am. black ducks, mallards, 225 canvasbacks, 175 redheads, 150 lesser scaup, 75 greater scaup, 1 imm. male white-winged scoter, 15 buffleheads, 15 c. goldeneyes, hooded merganser, 3 red-breasted mergansers, and 7 Am. coots.  Next I went to E. 72nd St. in Cleveland.  The strong SW winds had created a large open lead out past the inner harbor, and that's where almost all of the gulls were.  There are still 4 mute swans hanging out here.  I headed down to the CVNP area of Summit Co. next.  At the Seiberling Naturerealm were pileated woodpecker, Am. robins, 3 white-winged crossbills, and 5 pine siskins.  Finally, from Bath Rd. I spotted a hen wood duck and a great blue heron along the Cuyahoga R.  Later, Craig
