I saw a new bird at (near) home today. I am pretty sure it was a Northern Flicker. I thought I had seen it before but didn't get a good look the first time. But I got a good look today and it had the distinctive spotted breast and black throat and pointy dagger-like tail feathers along with the red spot on its head. I didnt get a good look at the head otherwise. This was just south of the Brown Family Environmental Center at Kenyon College. Speaking of which I took a nice Sunday (Jan 31st) walk along their river trail and saw the following: 2 Red-bellied Woodpecker 4 Downy Woodpecker 1 Pileated Woodpecker 6 Black-capped Chickadee 4 Tufted Titmouse 1 Brown Creeper 6 Eastern Bluebird 2 American Robin X Dark-eyed Junco 6 Northern Cardinal 6 American Goldfinch - Austin PS - Oops accidentally sent from the wrong email before.
