There were fewer birds today, but there were some good birds to make up for it. Best was a CACKLING GOOSE that was out on the lake with 4 Canada geese. I have seen 2 cackling geese 2 and 4 miles from my yard, but not from the yard, so it was a new yard bird. Also of interest was a male white-winged scoter, single Thayer's, Iceland and lesser black-backed gulls, a 2 glaucous gulls.
