Greetings All, We just got back from a late afternoon birding excursion. Of particular note was a mature bald eagle perched over the Vermilion River at the Green Road bridge just North of Camp Timberline Girl Scout Camp. This is the second time we've heard of eagles within the last week. Earlier a pair was sighted on Baird Road, Wakeman, just south of Route 113 perched in a lone tree . With luck, perhaps we'll notice some nesting activity in the area. Other birds of note are the continuing flock of pine siskins at the feeder. A pair of Great Horned Owls were heard last evening calling around 2:30 am . Downy, Hairy and Pileated Woodpeckers were out today as well. Large flocks of horned larks continue to appear in the fields along Becker Road between Rt 511 and Gore Orphanage. Happy Birding Dorothy ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
