Sorry for the late entry; I am at the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association's annual meeting in Columbus, with limited Internet access. On Wed, Feb. 18, I saw one of my neighborhood American Kestrels flying down to land on top of a power pole along Felicity-Higgonsport Rd. To my surprise, he landed not on the pole, but on the female kestrel who was already perched there, and copulation was observed. I knew there was a resident pair along this stretch of road, but this is the first time I have confirmed breeding behavior. This is, unfortunately, not in my OBBA block, but I wil be sure to record it when I get back home. As an aside, I am staying with my sister, who lives near Green Lawn Cemetary. I did a drive-through yesterday (Fri) with nothng particularly notable, except for a huge flock of robins at section 81/84. ~Kathi Hutton Felicity, Clermont County http://katdocsworld.blogspot.com/ ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
