Anyone interested in attending this Saturday's special program (February 28th, 4 pm to 7 pm) featuring a film documenting the life and work of Mark Catesby (1683-1749) at the Cincinnati Zoo, please call to get your tickets by Wednesday 9am. Call the Lloyd Library at 513-721-3707: library hours are 8:30 am to 4 pm. Tickets are $15 and include the Catesby film (The Curious Mister Catesby) and lecture, parking and admission to the Cincinnati Zoo, and an after-film reception (catered). In these economic times, that's a good deal! I just saw part of the Catesby exhibit at the Lloyd Library this afternoon: charming! Birds, fish, snakes, mammals, and botany besides! FYI: the Catesby exhibit at the Lloyd runs through March 27. The Lloyd Library (bringing science, art, and history to life) is one of the jewels in the Tri-state that deserves to be better know: it's located at 917 Plum Street next to the Cincinnati Fire Museum. Local sponsors of the Catesby event this Saturday include: The Cincinnati Zoo, Civic Garden Center, Cincinnati Nature Center, Ohio Ornithological Society, Miami Valley Audubon Society, Lloyd Library and more. To see a sample of Catesby's work (i.e. the poster advertising this event) go the the OOS website at www.ohiobirds.org/ Ann Oliver, Cincinnati ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
