Oberlin Reservoir gull numbers were WAAAAAY down from those reported over the weekend. All my untrained eye could find were Herring (several stages) and Ring-billed. A small group (6) of Pintails was being 'herded' around by a gull. I also saw what appears to be a hybrid Canada Goose x Dark Phase Snow Goose. Feet, head and neck of a dark snow and the body of a Canada. Your comments would be appreciated. http://picasaweb.google.com/mvalencic/HybridBirdsAndPintails# How do you count this bird? Also, I saw the 'Mallard hybrid' yesterday (Tuesday) at the lake in Castalia. I took a picture of this bird last year. How many different species do you think are represented in this one individual? I hope to go to Lakeview Cemetery tomorrow and look for the Merlins.
