Saturday, March 7, 2009, 9:00-10:30 a.m. Kensington Oval to Bradstreet's Landing, Rocky River Observers: Paula Lozano & Bob Finkelstein Compared to what I observed late Thursday and Friday afternoons, many birds arrived over night. Red-breasted mergansers were the most nummerous. Our sightings included: Canada goose Mallard Greater scaup - 6 Bufflehead - 10 C. goldeneye - XX Hooded merganser - 1, male Common merganser - XX Red-breasted merganser - XXX Bald eagle - 2, adult; on ice floe off the mouth of the Rocky River (9:50 a.m. copulating) A. coot - 1 Killdeer - XX; flight direction E to W A. Crow - XX; flight direction W to E Horned lark - 2; flight direction N to S A.
