Just returned from a jaunt outdoors to see if any woodcocks were present and I was not disappointed! 2 American woodcocks called before taking off together across the lawn. A few minutes before that about 4 doz. rw blackbirds landed in the pine grove on top of the hill behind our house. Five deer were browsing in the garden and proceeded up the hill only to scare about a dozen wild turkeys which burst into flight and landed in the woods across the road. What a spectacular evening! And here I was feeling bad for not being able to get out and frequent the local birding spots. Happy birding!
