There was a decent movement of waterfowl today, but not many gulls. The first half hour or so saw very few birds and all were heading east. Around 8:10 the wind picked up very lightly out of the north and the movement picked up greatly and the birds began moving west. I had my first common loon and tree swallow today. Other birds of note were white-winged and black scoter and a red-necked grebe. Songbird migration was fairly light with crows and blackbirds making up the majority. the interesting thing was they were all heading west. I rarely get songbirds heading west here. At the feeders there were a few siskins and a single common redpoll.
