Yesterday, March 7, 2009, I was part of a small group that went birding along the Lake Erie Coast... We saw a total of 47 different species of birds. Highlights incluede: 2 Red-necked Grebes at Eastlake Power Plant 1 Merlin at Sims Park 2 White Winged Scooters at Avon Lake Powerplant 2 Long Eared Owls at Caley Woods Other Birds Seen were American Coot Lesser Scaup Mallard Bufflehead Canada Goose Bonaparte's Gull Ring-Billed Gull American Robin European Starling Blue Jay House Sparrow American Crow Mourning Dove Common Goldeneye Common Grackle Northern Cardinal Red Breasted Merganser Comonm Merganser Black-Capped Chickadee Great Black-backed Gull Redhead Mute Swan Ring-necked Duck Rock Pigeon American Black Duck Great Blue Heron Red Winged Blackbird White Breasted Nuthatch Killdeer Northern Mockingbird American Kestrel Red-tailed Hawk Lesser Black-backed Gull Herring Gull Northern Harrier Northern Shovler Hooded Merganser American Wigeon Horned Lark Horned Grebe Copper's Hawk Brown Headed Cowbird ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
