For some reason, this posting bounced back. I stopped by this park in far SE Columbus yesterday to look for migrants. It's just north of Pick POnds, and is one of my favorite central Ohio migrant traps, mostly because of the unusual stuff that strands there. Nothing jaw-dropping was found yesterday, but it was a good morning for migrant diversity. The list included: E.Phoebe - calling (they nest here) Crested Flycatcher - 2 calling Warbling Vireo - 4 sing Blue-headed Vireo - 1 singing House Wren - 4 singing Ruby-cr.Kinglet - 2 Blue-gray Gnatcatcher - 6+ Wood Thrush - 2 Swainson's Thrush - 1 Gray Catbird - 4 sing Parula Warbler - 2 sing Nashville - 1 sing Yellow-throated Warbler - 2 sing Magnolia Warbler - 1 singing Black-thr.Green - 1 singing Yellow-rumped Warblers - 8 Bay-breasted Warbler - 1 Com.Yellowthroat - 3 singing Scarlet Tanager - 1 sing Indigo Bunting - 4 singing Field Sparrow - 4 singing White-thr.Sparrow - 30+ Swamp Sparrow - 1 singing Baltimore Oriole - 2 singing Orchard Oriole - 1 pair, male singing ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
