Here's a photo from this morning of mom or dad next to the nest that is currently under construction. His\her mate was sitting in a few trees over. They were working diligently at dawn today. http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/6966185_2tZmw#510754027_VnnaW Bob Hilliard, Ohio -----Original Message----- From: Bob Baran [mailto:[log in to unmask]] Sent: Saturday, April 11, 2009 5:41 PM To: OhioBird Subject: Cooper's Hawk Nest - Hilliard I was working in the yard today (Saturday) and there was a Cooper's Hawk pair that were working two different nests. One in the trees behind my house and one in the neighbor's next door. Even with me working and my neighbor cutting his lawn, they were pretty oblivious as to what we were doing. In fact all of the yard birds got pretty comfortable with them around. They were squawking continuously throughout the day, and one periodically would do some sort of courtship routine. Then they would grab some twigs and take them up to the nest. If fact as I'm writing this, one just flew back to the spot they've been hanging out at. I hope this nest works out. It will be fun to monitor. Regards, Bob Hilliard, Ohio ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
