Congratulations Ohio birders. Citizen Science is thriving in the Buckeye State. Ohio ranked number one among states for new effort to find and record Rusty Blackbirds during the Rusty Backbird Hotspot Blitz during February. Your sighting reports via this Ohio Birds Listserv have increasd. Consider entering your obervations in eBird regularly, too. More importantly, you have heled to demnstrate Ohio's importance as a wintering area for Rusty Blackbirds. Thanks to Bill for sharing the research link. Additional analysis will be posted. I'm sure there will be a 2010 blitz, too. Don't forget the Ohio Beeding Bird Atlas!
