Fellow Birders: Check out the Cleveland Falconcam at www.falconcam-cmnh.org. The Cleveland Falconcam follows the Peregrine Falcons nesting on the Terminal Tower, the classic skyscraper in the center of downtown Cleveland. The male (Buckeye) is a product of the Columbus and the female (SW) hails from Pittsburgh. This is their 8th year together at this location. Three of their eggs have hatched with one egg remaining. The site features three camera views of the nest and its location on the 12th floor of the Terminal. Though the site does not have streaming video, an image from each camera is refreshed every minute and an 8 hour archive of those images is maintained. This is particularly useful for reviewing shift changes, feeding and other behaviors at the nest. For example an image from Monday clearly shows that Virgina Rail was on the menu. In addition to the images and archives, check out the Forum section where some 700 falcon enthusiasts from around the world post images, observations and commentary on nests in Cleveland, Ohio, the U.S and beyond.
