Things were slower today than yesterday. A lot fewer birds moving on the lake and fewer songbirds around. The best bird was a red-necked grebe. this was different from the one yesterday as this was in breeding plumage. A lot fewer songbird variety, but tons of migrating goldfinches and siskins. There were a number of migrating blue jays also. There were a few new yard birds including house wren Baltimore oriole, ovenbird veery and wood thrush. I still have a single tree sparrow and fox sparrow coming to my feeders.
