Got out of the office and onto the boardwalk today. Everyone is in what I call "anticipation mode" here. The birds aren't dripping from the trees yet, but it sure was nice to see and to feel the warmth of the sun today and a few birds! Portable restrooms are due any day now. There are bathrooms located inside the Bird Center. Birds of note seen on the boardwalk today: Fox sparrows Tree sparrows Lincoln sparrow White-throated sparrow Dark eyed junco Eastern Towhee Winter Wren WB nuthatch Brown creeper Hermit thrush Rusty blackbird RC kinglet GC kinglet Downy woodpecker Flicker E. Phoebe Tree swallow Ring necked duck Wood duck Scaup sp. Great egret We also heard something that sure sounded like an oriole, but were unable to locate the bird. Happy Birding! Mary L.
