I drove up to Hancock County yesterday from Columbus to see the Golden- crowned Sparrow and was not disappointed. Many thanks to the landowner and bird-lover who was accommodating, friendly, and informative. On the way home I paid a visit to Upper Sandusky Reservoir for a bike ride and some birding and enjoyed both during a stop that lasted several hours. There were few if any Mallards or Canada Geese on hand and the water fowl were widely dispersed but easily found. Most were displaying breeding plumage. The highlights are listed below and photos of all of them can be found at http://www.flickr.com/photos/buckeyephotoguy/sets/72157617166806711/.
