The warm southern winds brought in some great birds today. It's time
to use those vacation days that you have been saving!

The weekend should be great as well. We will doing a Bird Walk at 8:30
tomorrow (Saturday) morning. We leave from the west end of the
Boardwalk. Come join us! The Friends of Magee Marsh will be offering
coffee and donuts in the bird center.

Some of the highlights for today were:

warblers:
Nashville
Yellow
BT Green
Pine
Palm
Black and White
Prothonotary
Ovenbird
Kentucky
Hooded
Cape May
Worm eating

Grand slam on thrushes: hermit, wood, veery, gray-cheeked, and
Swanson's.
Nice looks at purple finches. White-eyed and blue-headed vireos.
Savannah, swamp, and Lincoln's sparrows.
A least flycatcher! Scarlet tanager. Great horned owl nesting near
18B on an old snag, pretty low. Not real easy to see.

Happy Birding!!
