Hi Everyone,

Shawnee was fabulous this past weekend.  I counted 25 warbler species.  Forest Rd. 8 and 2 had small flocks of mixed warblers.  Hooded were abundant.  Prairie, Kentucky, Worm-earing, and Ceruleans were setting up territories and singing.

Shawnee is peaceful.  I didn't see another person in the morning for 3 hours making it easy to hear the songs. Most of the birds were easy to view for extended periods of time.

Vireos:  Blue headed, Philadelphia, many white-eyed, warbling, red-eyed

The whip-poor-wills were active on Odle Creek Rd. around 8:30 p.m.

Scarlet tanagers, orioles, indigo buntings, and rose-breasted grosbeaks were present in
good numbers, too.

Great weekend and many nice birders.  Sally and Beulah were very helpful!  Thanks.

Kani
