I spent Wed - Fri at Magee Marsh/surrounding areas and witnessed the transformation from mediocre to terrific birding as southwest winds brought fair weather and hundreds of migrants on Friday. 107 species total 25 Warbler species Blue-winged Golden-winged Tennessee Nashville N. Parula Yellow Chestnut-sided Magnolia Cape May Black-throated Blue Yellow-rumped Black-throated Green Blackburnian Palm Bay-breasted Blackpoll Black-and-white Am. Redstart Prothonotary Ovenbird Northern Waterthrush Mourning Common Yellowthroat Hooded Wilson's Vireos: Yellow-throated Warbling Red-eyed Blue-headed Other highlights: Least Bittern (photos posted) Screech Owl Great Horned Owlets in nest Whip-poor-will Soras in the open and on nest Black-crowned Night-Heron Little Blue Heron Great Egrets - dozens! Snowy Egrets - several Wilson's Phalarope (end of Veler Road) Beautiful Fox Snake near the boardwalk (photo posted) I'm driving back north after my grandson's ball game this afternoon - too good up there to miss it!
