Howdy all - A beauty of an American Avocet remains at Lorain Impoundment, as of 5:00 this p.m. It has been hanging out in the northwest-most impoundment since Tuesday, per Dane Adams. Shorebird migration here is definitely heating up...surely worth a check in the coming weeks. Least Sandpiper 100 Semepalmated Sandpiper 30 Lesser Yellowlegs 28 Dunlin 25 A brief check of the small woodlot turned up quite a few migrants. Black-throated Blues (8) were definitely the dominant warbler species, and woodcock, Black-crowned Night-Heron, and Red-breasted Nuthatch were also nice for the site. Good birding - Gabe Leidy Cleveland ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
