Sorry for the late report, but I was entertaining visiting relative until now. We stopped briefly at Greenlawn cemetery yesterday, but had to work to find migrants. The day was clear, but with a steady, cold N wind. Even protected areas like the Pit and the Ravine didn't hold much on this day. Highlights, such as they were, included Flycatchers - singing Yellow-bellied just west of the Pit and an Olive-sided in a leafless tree along the south edge of the ravine. Wood Pewees were also quite common, with 6-8 in an hour despite the windy conditions. Vireos - 4-5 Red-eyed were the only ones found Thrushes - 7-8 Swainsons were lurking in windless areas, along with a single Gray-cheeked near the Pit Warblers - very few. We did manage to find Tennessee, Magnolia, Chesnut-sided, Black&White, and 3-4 Redstarts, but this was with intensive searching. ______________________________________________________________________ Ohio-birds mailing list, a service of the Ohio Ornithological Society.
