We visited the Depot Road Marsh on the east end of Guilford Lake State Park this morning about 10:30 AM. All birds listed were easily seen.

Wood Duck 1 pair
American Wigeon 1 pair
Blue-winged Teal 1 pair
Canvasback 1 male
Double-crested Cormorant 4
Green Heron 2
Virginia Rail 5
Common Moorhen 3
American Coot 2
Marsh Wren 10+
Swamp Sparrow 5+

Of note: This location also has Least and American Bittern. Depot Road is County Road 410; parking is adjacent by the Firestone Yeagley Wildlife Area sign. Best viewing is looking west toward the dam. Beware of the traffic!!!
