Yesterday I had 3 pine siskins at my backyard feeders here in Poland Twp., Mahoning Co.  I've repeatedly seen 2 birds hanging out together this spring.  Finally, I was able to observe some courtship behavior between them--the female was begging for food from the male, and was following him around  at all times.  This may be a record spring/summer for nesting siskins in Ohio!!  Today, I visited Frohring Meadows in Geauga Co. on the way back from business near Cleveland.  In a half hour there, I saw/heard greater yellowlegs, lesser yellowlegs, horned lark, e. bluebird, savannah sparrows, bobolink, and e. meadowlark.  I've only been to this site twice so far, and only briefly, but that's enough to appreciate the value of this fine park.  Cheers, Craig
