an attempt to relocate the swainson's warbler today was unsuccessful. however, on the same trail the birders found two incredibly cooperative worm-eating warblers. after long views of the worm-eaters, they are absolutely certain what they had was a swainson's yesterday. they have since listened to the call note on cd, which locked up the id as a swainson's. hopefully someone else will be able to find the bird over the next couple of days. greg emmertakron, ohio > Date: Sat, 9 May 2009 20:42:30 -0400 > From: [log in to unmask] > Subject: [Ohio-birds] Possible Swainson's Warbler > To: [log in to unmask] > > At 6:00PM on the lake trail at Clear Creek Metropark, there was a possible Swainson's Warbler. This is second hand, but extremely reliable information. Apparently the bird was near the water at the end of the trail. It was only seen for a moment, but it was a clear and unobstructed view. It was also heard making it's distinctive harsh call note. The lake trail can be accessed from the valley view picnic area parking lot.
