At Conneaut harbor today were an adult alt. laughing gull and a flyby Iceland gull (first/second cycle).  Also of note there: great egret, bald eagle, semipalmated plover, lesser yellowlegs, semipalmated sandpiper, least sandpipers, dunlins, short-billed dowitcher, only 1 Bonaparte's gull, 3 great black-backed gulls, 16 Caspian terns (several birds offering fish to prospective mates), belted kingfisher, and all 6 swallow species (20 purple martins and a cliff were unexpected for this date there).  One of the resident beach vultures came in among the gulls to claim a dead fish.  It easily pushed aside a couple of larger gulls.  All this happened in shallow water, not dry land.  On the way south to Orwell 3 Am. kestrels were on feeding territories in Richmond and Monroe Twps.  Orwell Marsh highlights included 3 blue-winged teal (one obvious pair), wood ducks, green heron, 11 semipalmated plovers, 10 lesser yellowlegs, 6 spotted sandpipers, and 25
 least sandpipers.  Later, Craig
